Inward

We live in a world fueled by social media and “The Next Big Thing”. We are drawn to what we believe to be a necessity in our lives. We focus outwardly and worry about gaining acceptance from others. We worry about how we look, what we wear, and if we measure up to the expectations set forth by others. In the large scheme of things, does having any of it matter? If we could focus inward toward ours hearts and focus upward as we kneel down to pray we could ultimately discover our true worth. It could open our eyes to what really matters.

Once we take hold of our own value and embrace who we are the opinions of others will vanish into thin air. I sincerely hope and pray God blesses each of you with the vision to see past the opinions and expectations of others. I pray you see past your fears and take chances based on what makes your heart sing!

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
1 Peter 3:3-4 | NIV

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Colossians 3:12 | NIV

Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
1 Peter 3:8 | NIV

God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.
1 Corinthians 1:28-29 | NIV

So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
Matthew 6:2 | NIV
